When the female produces light, she raises her abdomen to expose the photogenic organ. Males were collected by red-light trapping between 20:00 and 21:00 hours. The male genitalia of this species are very similar to those of R. ohbai, but possess one pair of sclerotized teeth on both sides of the medial lobe base.
