王明山,理学博士,博士生导师,中科院青年创新促进会会员。2011年毕业于吉林大学,获得农学学士学位;2017年毕业于中科院昆明动物研究所,获得理学博士学位;2017-2019年在中科院昆明动物研究所工作,担任副(破格)研究员;2019-2022年在美国霍华德休斯医学研究所(HHMI),加州大学圣克鲁兹分校做博士后研究;20229月作为高层次人才引进中科院昆明动物研究所,组建进化与生物多样性基因组学学科组,担任PI。主持和参加过多项国家级和中科院项目,在Nature GeneticsNature Ecology & EvolutionCell ResearchMolecular Biology and EvolutionNational Science ReviewBMC Biology等期刊共发表30余篇论文。获得中科院院长特别奖、中科院百篇优秀博士学位论文和云南省自然科学奖一等奖(排名第三)等奖励。

  研究方向

1. 基因组学与动物多样性保护

利用生物信息学、基因组学和古基因组学等手段探究我国西南和周边地域生物多样性形成和维持机制;阐明种群分化的遗传驱动力和分子机制;揭示不同动物类群对特定环境和气候变化响应的对策和适应性进化的遗传基础;探讨濒危类群的种群健康程度和遗传潜力。针对濒危原因,提出科学有效的保护措施,促进生物多样性资源的保护和综合开发利用。

2. 复杂性状形成和演化的遗传机制

采用多组学、生物信息学、基因编辑等交叉学科手段开展鸟类复杂性状形成和演化机制的研究,包括鸟类飞行能力的起源、进化发育以及空间定位和认知能力等形成机制。研究成果将服务于动物复杂性状、人类高级认知功能和神经系统发育、形成和进化机制的解析,以及神经系统相关疾病的诊治和优质高效畜禽品种的培育。
