摘要: | During the past two decades, a series of archaeological and genetic investigations substantially improve our perception of the hominin settlement of the Tibetan Plateau (Zhang et al., 2022). In addition to the identification of Tibetan selectionnominated genes contributing to the high-altitude adaptation (Zheng et al., 2023), the genetic inference of demographic history reveals multiple dispersals into the Tibetan Plateau, which can be briefly assigned into two episodes (Zhang et al., 2022). The ancient dispersal occurring during the Upper Paleolithic, even before the last glacial maximum (LGM, 25-19 thousand years ago, ka), was traced back to the early Eurasian Homo sapiens (Liu et al., 2022; Wang et al.,2023) receiving gene flow from archaic Denisovans (Zhang et al.,2021). The recent expansion within the mid- Holocene was ascribed to the Neolithic farmers and herders mainly derived from northern China (Li et al.,2019;Peng et al.,2023). |
